Vacuum-Compatible Electro-Optic Polarization Calibration System


To meet the diagnostic requirements for scattered light in large-scale laser fusion facilities—such as inertial confinement fusion experiments—a vacuum‑compatible polarization calibration module has been developed. Mounted on an electrically driven carriage, the module can enter the vacuum target chamber and deliver an external calibration laser to the target via optical fiber, enabling remote electro‑optic control of beam pointing and polarization state. It provides real-time feedback on beam position and polarization orientation, while measuring the output optical power at the target. This system offers a high‑precision, traceable, and vacuum‑compatible polarization calibration tool for high‑power laser–plasma experiments, ensuring the accuracy and reproducibility of scattered‑light polarization measurements.
