Phoenix Optics

Phoenix Optics originated as the Jiangxi Optical Instruments General Factory, established in 1965 under the national “Third Front” construction program. It was jointly approved by the former State Planning Commission and the First Ministry of Machine Building and set up in Huangbaiyang Village, Huqiao Township, Dexing County, Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. The Jiangxi Optical Instruments General Factory was formed through the relocation of several enterprises, including the Shanghai Film Machinery Factory, Shanghai Camera Factory No. 2, Jiangnan Optical Instruments Factory, Nanjing Surveying and Mapping Instruments Factory, and Nanjing Mould Factory. At the time, its registered capital stood at RMB 36 million, and it commenced formal production in 1969.

Phoenix Optics is headquartered in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. On July 1, 2015, following the gratuitous transfer of its controlling shareholder, Phoenix Optics Holding Co., Ltd., to China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, it became an industrial subsidiary of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. Consequently, the actual controller of Phoenix Optics shifted from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

Phoenix Optics is primarily engaged in the research, development, production, and sales of optical components, metal parts, various types of optical lenses, medical endoscopic products, microscopes, smart controllers, and intelligent imaging solutions. The company boasts comprehensive R&D and manufacturing capabilities spanning optics, mechanics, electronics, and plastics, and maintains a domestically leading position in key processing technologies such as optical cold working, precision metal machining, surface heat treatment, optical coating, injection molding, and precision mold fabrication. Phoenix Optics operates under a rigorous, enterprise-wide quality management system and maintains a nationwide quality‑feedback network. It has successively obtained ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system, ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system, OHSAS 18001 certification for its occupational health and safety management system, and TS 16949 certification for automotive quality management. The “Phoenix” brand has grown into a well‑known national industrial name in the international optics industry.

Currently, Phoenix Optical employs over 3,500 people and has established a comprehensive global footprint: it has set up a joint-stock company in Japan and built an overseas production base in Vietnam. Domestically, it operates R&D and marketing centers in Shangrao, Hangzhou, and Suzhou, and has constructed large-scale, state-of-the-art manufacturing and processing facilities across Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces.

In recent years, Phoenix Optics has developed comprehensive capabilities in optical and structural design and has progressively expanded its product portfolio across both visible‑light and non‑visible‑light domains, achieving full coverage in the optics field. Its products are widely used in consumer‑grade optoelectronic applications—such as digital cameras, image projection, security surveillance, smart automotive systems, and smart home devices—by internationally renowned brands, making the company a reliable supplier to numerous leading domestic and global enterprises.
