Technical Data
The compact and easy-to-use GY-015 incorporates the advantages of LED technology into an affordable and flexible solar simulator. The fully independent light source includes all controls, LEDs and optics, providing researchers with flexible mounting and orientation options. External remote on/off triggering and longer lamp life improve the practicality of remote installation and integrate LED technology into applications that only require ABA ratings.
Model: GY-015
Class A spectral matching
Class B irradiance spatial inhomogeneity
Class A time instability
Short boot time, less than 100 ms-no shutter required
LED life up to 10000 hours-no need to change bulbs
2 x 2 inch output beam size
Features
Advantages of LED
Unlike typical xenon lamp-based solar simulators, LED-based solar simulators have a bulb life of more than 10,000 hours and do not require a long warm-up time. The shutter can be simply switched to control the output; no mechanical shutter is required. Pay careful attention to the design and use of solid-state LEDs, the LSH-7320 can be adjusted in any direction to meet your application needs.

ABA class solar spectrum
If your application does not require the highest level of illumination uniformity, you can use an ABA-level system. ABA-level systems can still provide the highest spectral matching performance (Class A) defined by the latest standards of the IEC. The high cost performance of the ABA-level system ensures that users can rest assured that they will choose the durable Oriel solar simulator, because they believe in this outstanding brand with a history of more than 40 years, and Newport's global resource network will provide it with strong product support.
10,000 hours LED life
The life of LEDs usually exceeds 10,000 hours, and there is no need to replace expensive and dangerous bulbs. The LED reaches a stable operating power within 100 milliseconds. This allows the unit to be shut down between tests without having to wait for the lamp to stabilize or compromise the integrity of the test results. This results in the effective use of the lamp several times longer than traditional lamps, and the need to use a shutter on the output is no longer necessary (note that the 10,000-hour lifetime is only related to the LED, not to the solar simulator system).
Flexible light source direction
Oriel PVIV System Demo
Demonstration of initial setup and test measurements at the Oriel PVIV station. The video uses the Oriel MiniSol LED solar simulator LSH-7320 connected to the PVIV-1A kit.
Using solid-state LEDs and rugged optical mounting hardware, the head can be positioned in any position to suit a variety of applications. To help position the light source, an adjustable mount with variable height and a laser pointer are included to ensure that the test box is always in the correct position under the head. The flexibility of the MiniSol model LSH-7320 solar simulator allows users to tailor the simulator for testing without having to tailor it to the solar simulator.
