multilayer V film
The hypotenuse of one of the prisms is coated with a multi-layer dielectric polarization beam splitter film, optimized for 248 nm, 355 nm, 405 nm, 532 nm, 1064 nm, or 1550 nm wavelengths.
Optical Contact Designed for High Damage Threshold These high power cube beam splitters are formed by gluing two right angle prisms together. The hypotenuse of one of the prisms is coated with a partially reflective dielectric coating. A special process then brings the two surfaces together. Optical contact is a difficult process and can only be achieved if the two mating surfaces are very flat and very clean. Since optical contact involves additional labor, this process is reserved only for higher power, more demanding applications.
High polarization extinction ratio
The unpolarized beam is split into two orthogonal linearly polarized components. P-polarized light is transmitted and S-polarized light is reflected, both with negligible light absorption. The extinction ratio is better than 200:1. This unique assembly provides all the advantages of a thin film polarizer in a standard cube configuration.
