Technical Data
30 ° - 60 ° - 90 ° Littero Dispersion Prisms can be used in a variety of applications. Uncoated Littero Dispersion Prism disperses light into its element spectrum. Coated Littero Dispersion Prisms can be used to deflect 60 ° of light.
Littero prisms are available at 30 °, 60 °, and 90 °, and are commonly used as dispersive or beam-shifting prisms, depending on whether the B- C surface is uncoated or coated.
Dispersion prism (uncoated)
Parallel white light enters the A- C surface of the prism, reflects at the hypotenuse surface, and then redisperses to the element spectrum located at the B- C surface. Although the dispersion formed by the Litro prism is narrower than that of the equilateral prism, its price is relatively cheaper.
Beam Deflection Prism (Coated)
Incident light enters the aluminized film B- C surface of the prism at a nominal angle and is reflected using the same optical path. In spectral dispersion applications using white light, since the optical path length of the glass substrate is the same as the round trip distance, the resolution performance of the Littero prism and the equilateral prism are equal. In addition, light entering the A- C surface is reflected twice within the glass substrate before being emitted through the hypotenuse surface at 60 °.
