These vacuum-compatible bases are made of 6061-T6 aluminum and are chemically cleaned before packaging for vacuum applications. It can be used in a vacuum environment as low as 10-6 Torr out of the box. If combined with other cleaning and treatment, they can also be used at lower pressures, limited only by the outgassing rate of the aluminum material, which is 7.6 x 10-9 Torr-Liters/s/cm2 at 20°C. The characteristics of 6061-T6 aluminum materials and the cleaning methods adopted by the end user should be used to determine the suitability of these products and materials for operation in specific vacuum environments below 10-6 Torr.
These bases are packaged in double-sealed bags and are suitable for clean room and vacuum chamber applications. It is recommended to use a 3/8 inch (10mm) length 1/4 inch -20(M6) vent cap screw to attach the rod bracket to the mounting base. We also provide other vacuum-compatible 1/2 inch post system components.
