These plano-concave lenses are made of RoHS-compliant N-BK7 glass and are coated with a broadband AR coating in the 350 - 700 nm band. This coating can greatly reduce the 4% light loss per surface that occurs when using uncoated lenses (see the curve tab for details).


Below is the transmittance curve of N-BK7, which is a RoHS-compliant BK7 form of glass. The total transmittance shows a 10 mm thick, uncoated sample and includes surface reflections.
These high performance multi-layer ANR films have an average reflectance of less than 0.5 percent (per surface) over the entire specified wavelength range and provide good performance (0.5 NA) over an incident angle range of 0 ° to 30 °. The graph below shows the performance of the standard coating of this series of products as a function of wavelength. The typical absorption of the broadband coating is 0.25 percent, which is not shown in the reflectance curve.
