Three-ring structure or extruded structure
The fiber polarization controller changes the polarization state of light transmitted in a single-mode fiber by winding the fiber on a circular disc or by squeezing the fiber to generate stress birefringence, thereby forming an independent wave plate. The three rings of the three-ring polarization controller are equivalent to λ/4, λ/2 and λ/4 wave plates, respectively, and the squeeze polarization controller is equivalent to a rotating variable wave plate. Both can convert any input polarization state to the desired output polarization state. At the same time, the structure design of the all-fiber greatly reduces the insertion loss and back reflection of the device, which can replace the polarization controller composed of the traditional wave plate.
