Echelle diffraction grating
High-resolution echelle diffraction gratings are special low-period reflective gratings designed for use at higher orders. They typically cooperate with another grating or prism to separate the overlapping diffraction orders. These gratings have a large blaze angle and are well suited for high-resolution spectroscopy. The echelle grating uses a precision glass substrate, and the resolution is 80% to 90% of the theoretical value.
