Precision-polished aspheric lens, N-BK7/S-LAH64, uncoated

Chongfan Technology typically uses two common materials for precision‑polished aspheric lenses: N‑BK7 and S‑LAH64. Both exhibit high transmittance in the visible and near‑infrared spectral regions. S‑LAH64 has a higher refractive index than N‑BK7, making it well suited for fabricating high‑numerical‑aperture, short‑focal‑length lenses.

Product Description

  • Optical material: N-BK7/S-LAH64 or equivalent
  • Uncoated
  • More suitable for focused applications.

Chongfan Technology typically uses two common materials for precision‑polished aspheric lenses: N‑BK7 and S‑LAH64. Both exhibit high transmittance in the visible and near‑infrared spectral regions; S‑LAH64 has a higher refractive index than N‑BK7, making it well suited for fabricating short‑focal‑length lenses with high numerical apertures. Compared with conventional spherical lenses, aspheric lenses offer larger numerical apertures (NA) and lower f‑numbers (f/#), resulting in reduced spherical aberration and performance that can approach the diffraction limit. This leads to fewer optical components and a more streamlined system design. In contrast to molded aspheric condenser lenses, precision‑polished aspheric lenses provide larger dimensions, superior surface quality, and enhanced beam‑focusing performance. Due to the off‑axis performance limitations of aspheric optics, these precision‑polished aspheres are particularly suited for applications with narrow fields of view, such as fiber‑coupled systems and other small‑field scenarios. To ensure optimal performance, when used for collimating or focusing beams, the beam should be incident on the side with the greater curvature. Because of machining‑induced polishing marks, collimation may not yield an ideal spot profile, whereas focusing can achieve diffraction‑limited performance. For applications with stringent collimation requirements, custom products with even higher surface accuracy are available; please contact Chongfan Technology’s technical support for details.

Precision-polished aspheric lens, N-BK7, uncoated, unassembled

  • Material: N-BK7 or equivalent
  • Operating wavelength: 350 nm–2000 nm
  • Diameter: Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, Ø50.8 mm

Chongfan Technology offers uncoated, precision‑polished aspheric lenses made from N‑BK7 or an equivalent material. Currently available in three diameters—Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø50.8 mm. Conventional spherical lenses suffer from spherical aberration because their curvature fails to focus parallel rays to a single point. In contrast, aspheric lenses feature a continuously varying curvature from the center to the edge; by carefully adjusting the conic constant and aspheric coefficients, spherical aberration can be minimized, enabling light rays to converge at a single focal point and thereby enhancing optical performance.

Precision-polished aspheric lens, N-BK7, uncoated, with mounting.

  • Material: N-BK7 or equivalent
  • Operating wavelength: 350 nm–2000 nm
  • Diameter: Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, Ø50.8 mm
  • Installed in a standard lens barrel.

Chongfan Technology offers precision‑polished aspheric lenses with mounting, made from N‑BK7 or an equivalent material and uncoated. Currently available in three diameters: Ø12.7 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø50.8 mm. Conventional spherical refractive surfaces cannot focus parallel rays to a single point, resulting in spherical aberration. In contrast, aspheric lenses feature a continuously varying curvature from the center to the edge; by optimizing the conic constant and aspheric coefficients, spherical aberration can be minimized, enabling light to converge at a single focal point and thereby enhancing optical performance. Chongfan Technology’s precision‑polished aspheric lenses are pre‑mounted in standard lens barrels, whose surfaces are engraved with the product model, type, diameter, focal length, and numerical aperture, facilitating quick identification of lens specifications.

Precision-polished aspheric lens, S-LAH64, uncoated, unassembled

  • Material: S-LAH64 or equivalent material
  • Operating Wavelength: S-LAH64: 375 nm–2100 nm
  • Diameter: Ø10.0 mm, Ø12.7 mm, Ø18.0 mm, Ø20.0 mm, Ø25.4 mm, Ø50.8 mm

Chongfan Technology offers uncoated, precision‑polished aspheric lenses made from S‑LAH64 or an equivalent material. Six diameters are currently available: Ø10.0 mm, Ø12.7 mm, Ø18.0 mm, Ø20.0 mm, Ø25.4 mm, and Ø50.8 mm. Conventional spherical lenses cannot focus parallel rays to a single point, resulting in spherical aberration. In contrast, aspheric lenses feature a continuously varying curvature from the center to the edge; by optimizing the conic constant and aspheric coefficients, spherical aberration can be minimized, enabling light to converge at one focal point and thereby enhancing optical performance.
